The Jersey Lily

Named after the flamboyant Jersey born Victorian actress and racehorse breeder Lily Langtry, whose black and white photographs adorn the walls, this Whiteladies Road pub re-launched in June 2014 after extensive refurbishment.

The Jersey Lily has been given a tasteful makeover including heritage coloured paintwork. A wall of striking peacock print wallpaper and oversize filament lightbulbs.

With its low ceiling and spiky pot plants, this one-room pub has always had the feel of a jazz bar at night and manager Paul Cooper (who used to work at the Windmill pub in Windmill Hill) has started live acoustic music on a Monday night. Other regular events already up and running include Thursday Quiz nights and sparkling wine- themed Fizz Fridays ("start your weekend with a fizz")

The Jersey Lily is now an ale and cider house able to offer real choices that change on a regular basis. As well as Wickwar's own popular ales, such as BOB and Coopers WPA, there is an own-brand Jersey Lily Ale and rotating guest ales. For the cider fans, there is Symonds, Blackthorn, Scrumpy Jack and Thatchers Traditional.

A range of award winning pies are available on the all-day food menu, alongside pulled pork baps, macaroni cheese, a ploughmans lunch and a "Bristol charcuterie board". Children are welcome too, with a selection of meals available.

Quality and service is our mantra along with a warm welcome and great atmosphere. Please come and visit us, follow us on facebook, enjoy some great times and join in the fun.
